Being pregnant during the summer can be a drag! Surviving the hot, muggy weather can be uncomfortable at best when you’re pregnant. But don’t worry! Here are some tips to help you survive your summer as a pregnant mama:
1. Beat the heat. Make sure to keep yourself cool with regular breaks in the air conditioning. If you don’t have easy access to AC, invest in a cooling fan to keep you comfortable.
2. Wear loose-fitting clothing. Choose breathable and lightweight fabrics and avoid anything too tight or constricting.
3. Keep your fluids up. Make sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated in the heat. You can also snack on fruits and veggies that are high in water content like watermelons or cucumbers. 4. Unwind. Take it easy and don’t get too stressed out. Finding ways to relax, like going for a stroll in the evening or taking a bath, can help reduce your discomfort. Beating the heat during summer while pregnant can be tough—but with a few tips, you can make it a breeze!
How Does Water Intake help my ultrasounds?
Water helps with prenatal ultrasounds by acting as a medium for sound waves to travel through. This allows for the sound waves to penetrate the mother’s body and reach the developing fetus for an image to be seen on the ultrasound monitor. By using water, the sound waves can increase in strength and accuracy to create a clearer image! Our suggestion is that you drink a half gallon- 1gallon daily for about a week leading up to your appointment. Water is your best tool for clear images with 2D, 4/5D ultrasounds!
