2D Baby Ultrasound

2D ultrasound is the traditional, standard obstetric-style imaging method most people are familiar with. It produces a flat, black-and-white image with no depth, allowing for a clear view of your baby’s basic structure and internal organs. While it doesn’t offer the detail or realism of 3D or 4D ultrasounds, it plays an important role in early prenatal care and remains a valuable tool for monitoring fetal development.

In the earliest weeks of pregnancy, a 2D ultrasound is typically used to confirm pregnancy, verify fetal heartbeat, and determine accurate gestational age. This is often the first reassuring glimpse expecting parents get of their growing baby.

As the pregnancy progresses, 2D imaging is still commonly used to monitor development. Around 14 weeks, this type of ultrasound can also help determine your baby’s gender, making it an exciting moment for parents who are ready to find out if they're having a boy or a girl.

While 2D ultrasounds don’t show facial features or movement in real time like 3D or 4D ultrasounds, they are incredibly useful for early insight into your baby’s milestones.
